ARTICLE 20
Community Liaison Committee
20.1Hydro and Manitoba agree to establish a Committee to be known as the "Community Liaison Committee" which shall consist of two representatives from each Band, and two representatives from each of Hydro and Manitoba.
20.2
The purposes and objects of the Community Liaison Committee shall include:
20.2.1
The determination of ways and means of interpreting the operations and plans of Hydro to the communities in terms understandable to the residents;
20.2.2
The provision of access by the communities to information from Hydro in respect to current operations and future plans of Hydro; and
20.2.3
The development of a specific action program to achieve these objectives.
20.3
It is contemplated that, without limiting in any way whatsoever the scope of the activities that may be considered in formulating such an action program, Hydro and Manitoba will take deliberate measures to facilitate the achievement of the purposes of this Article such as:
20.3.1
Local workshops;
20.3.2
Local liaison officers;
20.3.3
Radio, television, film and any other appropriate medium; and
20.3.4
Publications in native languages.
20.4
The parties acknowledge that the effective implementation of this Article requires the complete support of all parties and the Bands, and Hydro agrees to convene the initial organizational meeting of the Community Liaison Committee within one month of ratification of this Agreement, at which meeting the frequency of meetings, the chairmanship and other procedural and operational matters shall be determined by the Committee.
